All relationships have ground rules. Small groups, in-person or virtual, are no exception. Even if you have not formally established the ground rules for your group, members likely perceive a set of guidelines. Unfortunately, conflict can result when different people have different ideas about what conduct is expected in any group, including a Bible study. In general, small groups and other church groups are more fruitful and effective when proper principles and guidelines are defined and followed.

In this course, you will:

• Learn 10⁺ ethical guidelines and principles for conducting small groups (in-person or virtual)
• Learn how to cultivate ethical leadership in small-groups
• Learn how to foster individual ethical accountability among group members and ensure ethical group interactions
• Gain additional insight and information from the Q&A session following the instructor’s presentation
• Be given an assignment to use the guidelines/principles presented to plan and schedule a group video conference
• Be able to submit your assignment for review and feedback from the instructor
• Receive a certificate after the instructor has graded your assignment and given you a passing score (a score of 70% is required to pass the course)

NOTE: A student must submit the assignment for review and grading prior to completing the course. A score of 70% or higher is required to pass the lesson. If you score less than 70% in a lesson, you must redo the lesson and resubmit your assignment for grading. There is no cost to redo the lesson and resubmit the assignment. Failure to get a passing score/grade will result in no certification.
