In Judges 6, Gideon built an altar to worship God. Jacob met God in Bethel and erected an altar, a stone monument, to commemorate his experience and the Psalmist David described his joy in worshipping at the altar. “Oh, Send out Your light and Your truth! Let them lead me; let them bring me to Your Holy hill and to Your tabernacle. Then I will go to the altar of God, to God my exceeding joy, and on the harp, I will praise you, God, Oh my God.”(Psalm 43:3-4)
Yet, in a recent survey of Seventh-day Adventists around the world, by the General Conference, results showed that only 52% of Seventh-day Adventists have personal worship on a daily basis, and even more troubling only 37% have family worship. This means that a whopping 63% of all Adventist homes do not have family worship.
